Good News Translation
Yet it was impossible for him to ignore the king's command, so he began looking for a way to trap Judas.

Since it was not possible to oppose the king, he watched for an opportunity to accomplish this by a stratagem.

Still, he could not disobey the king, so he started looking for an opportunity to take Judas by surprise.
