2 Maccabees 3:15
Good News Translation
Priests, wearing their priestly robes, threw themselves face downward before the altar and begged God to keep the money safe, since he had given the laws designed to protect the money that people deposited in the Temple.

New Revised Standard Version
The priests prostrated themselves before the altar in their priestly vestments and called toward heaven upon him who had given the law about deposits, that he should keep them safe for those who had deposited them.

Contemporary English Version
The priests in their sacred robes were lying face down on the ground in front of the altar and praying, "Our God, please protect this silver and gold! You yourself made the law that keeps our money safe while it is stored in the temple."
